Description
ALTTYPE indicates that the respondent had an alternative or temporary work arrangement during the reference week because it was the only type of work the respondent could find. Other variables giving other reasons why respondents have alternative work arrangements include ALTBOSS, ALTEXP, ALTFAM, ALTFLEX, ALTOTHR, ALTPAY, ALTSTAT, and ALTTRAIN. The variable ALTANY identifies respondents who reported to have an alternative work arrangement.
