Description
ALTEXP indicates that the respondent chose to have an alternative or temporary work arrangement during the reference week in order to gain experience that might lead to a permanent job. Other variables giving other reasons why respondents have alternative work arrangements include ALTBOSS, ALTFAM, ALTFLEX, ALTOTHR, ALTPAY, ALTSTAT, ALTTRAIN, and ALTTYPE. The variable ALTANY identifies respondents who reported to have an alternative work arrangement.
