ALTANY indicates whether or not the respondent has an alternative or temporary work arrangement during the reference week. This variable has a value of yes if the respondent reported having a type of relationship with his/her principal employer such as being self-employed, job-sharing, working from home, etc. Related variables that identify the type of alternative or temporary work arrangement or the reason why they choose to have an alternative or temporary work arrangement include ALTBOSS, ALTELSE, ALTEXP, ALTFAM, ALTFLEX, ALTHOME, ALTOTHR, ALTOUT, ALTPAY, ALTPRI, ALTSEAS, ALTSEC, ALTSELF, ALTSHARE, ALTSTAT, ALTTEMP, ALTTRAIN, and ALTTYPE.
