Description
FROT indicates the degree to which a factor not listed in the questionnaire would increase the respondent's interest in conducting research outside of the United States. The respondent had the opportunity to enter a response after "Other".
If a 1993 Survey of Doctorate Recipients respondent's work was related to research, he/she was asked how much his/her interest in researching abroad would increase depending on certain factors. In addition to FROT, the responses related to each factor are contained in the variables FRFAM, FRFIN, FRLAN, FROPP, and FRSAB.
