Description
ARTICLE gives the number of articles the respondent has authored or coauthored that have been accepted for publication as of the reference week. A similar variable is ARTC95.
Comparability
In the SESTAT 2003 samples, the number of articles is top-coded at 5 and the possible response values increment by 1 from zero to 5. In the National Survey of College Graduates 2003 sample, the number of articles are grouped in intervals of 5 up to a top-code of 51, meaning that the respondent authored or co-authored more than 50 papers that were accepted for publication.
