Description

TCDGCM reports whether or not the respondent completed a post-secondary degree between the reference month of the survey and the last iteration of that survey, which is typically a period of 2 to 3 years. TCDG indicates the type of degree the respondent was working on since the completed degree the respondent was sampled for.

Comparability

In the SESTAT NSCG 2013 sample, the code 97 (Survey Exclusion/Confidentiality Suppression) was added, and Logical Skip was not used in the original data because the universe changed to "All respondents" in this sample. First-time respondents of the NSCG were not asked the question "Between October 2010 and February 2013, did you complete another degree such as a master?s or doctorate?". Instead, they received a code of 97. In addition, there are 244 cases that appear to be suppressed for confidentiality, and also receive the code 97.
